Osteopath

Chris Blackburne

I’m Chris Blackburne, an experienced osteopath in Stanmore & St John’s Wood offering structural and cranial osteopathy alongside functional medicine.

HOW I CAN HELP YOU

Helping you move out of pain, reduce tension and restore balance through a combination of structural and cranial osteopathy.

As an Osteopath, I’m here to help you feel better by diagnosing, treating, and preventing musculoskeletal pain and injuries. I use a variety of hands-on techniques, such as soft tissue massage, joint articulation, spinal adjustments, low-level light therapy, and gentle cranial work, to suit your unique needs.

By combining these techniques with personalised exercise plans, focusing on balance, strength and movement control. I aim to relieve pain, improve mobility, and enhance posture and overall function.

In addition to my osteopathic practice, I have training in Functional Medicine, which looks at the bigger picture of your health. Scientific evidence shows that both internal factors (like hormonal imbalances, immune issues, or chronic infections) and external factors (like air quality, diet, stress, and sleep) can significantly impact your well-being. By identifying and addressing these root causes early, I can help you prevent or manage health challenges with tailored diet and lifestyle changes.

My approach is holistic and collaborative. I work closely with private GPs, orthopaedic surgeons, and podiatrists to provide integrated care, combining both conventional and alternative methods. Together, we’ll address your physical body with osteopathy and tackle underlying imbalances with a personalised plan, helping you move toward better health and well-being.

BENEFITS OF OSTEOPATHY AND FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE

Together, these approaches provide a holistic path to healing, combining physical care with tailored treatments to address both immediate and underlying causes.

WHAT I CAN TREAT

+ Chronic pain + Low back pain + Back and neck issues + Sports injuries + Postural problems + Repetitive strain injuries + Headaches and migraines + Pregnancy-related discomfort + Digestive disorders + Stress-related conditions

ABOUT CRANIAL OSTEOPATHY

Many symptoms, including pain, tension, fatigue and poor sleep, are linked to how the nervous system is functioning. Cranial osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on treatment that supports the body’s natural ability to rebalance and recover. Rather than focusing only on muscles and joints, it works with the deeper systems that regulate stress, tension and healing.

HOW CRANIAL TREATMENTS CAN HELP

Cranial osteopathy can support:

+ Persistent stress and tension + Headaches or jaw pain + Back, neck or postural strain + Fatigue and burnout + Recovery after illness or injury

It’s also ideal if you simply feel your body needs a reset.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Treatment is calm and non-invasive. You remain fully clothed while light contact is applied, usually around the head, spine and pelvis. Most patients find sessions deeply relaxing, often leaving feeling more settled, clear and restored.

Sometimes the most powerful changes in the body happen in stillness.
